Autoflower Seeds
Flowering time covers our shortest to longest autoflower strains. Every grow is different: timing and height depend on the strain, the conditions and the grower. Most autoflowers average around 3 ft, and well-grown plants can reach 4 to 5 ft.
Buy autoflower cannabis seeds in Canada and the USA
Autoflower seeds grow into cannabis plants that start flowering on their own, based on age rather than changes in light. Flowering time across our strains runs from about 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the strain and how it is grown, which makes autoflowers one of the fastest and simplest options for home growers. What are autoflowering seeds?
Most cannabis plants are photoperiod plants, meaning they only begin flowering when the days get shorter. Autoflowering plants get their trait from Cannabis ruderalis, a variety that adapted to northern regions with short summers. Breeders cross ruderalis with other cannabis genetics to create plants that flower automatically after a few weeks of growth, no matter how many hours of light they receive.
Why growers choose auto flower seeds
Autoflowers finish quickly, often in about two to three months from seed. They usually stay compact, commonly around 3 ft (90 cm) on average, and up to 4 to 5 ft when grown well, which suits tents, balconies, and small spaces. Indoors, they don't need a change in light schedule to start flowering, so many growers keep lights on a steady 18 or 20 hours a day from start to finish. Their speed also means some outdoor growers can fit more than one harvest into a single season.
Autoflower seeds for Canadian growing seasons
Canada's outdoor season is short, and early fall frost can end it before photoperiod plants finish. Because autoflowers run on their own timeline, they can be planted in late spring and harvested in summer, well before cold weather arrives in most regions. This makes them a practical choice for outdoor growers across much of Canada and the northern United States. Because we breed our own autoflowers, our strains are developed and tested in Canadian conditions.
Frequently asked questions
How long do autoflowers take to grow?
Most autoflowers take about 6 to 12 weeks to flower, depending on the strain and growing conditions. Each product page lists the expected time for that variety.
Are autoflower seeds feminized?
Most autoflower seeds sold today are feminized, meaning they grow into female plants. All of our autoflowers are feminized. Learn more on our Feminized Cannabis Seeds page.
What light schedule do autoflowers need indoors?
Autoflowers don't need a change in light to begin flowering. Many indoor growers use 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness, or 20 and 4, for the whole grow.
Can autoflowers be grown outdoors in Canada?
Yes, as long as home cultivation is allowed in your province. Their short life cycle helps them finish before fall frost in most regions.
What's the difference between autoflower and photoperiod seeds?
Autoflowers flower automatically based on age and finish faster. Photoperiod plants flower when the light schedule changes, take longer, and often grow larger. Growers who want speed and simplicity usually choose autoflowers.
Do your autoflower seeds come with a germination guarantee?
Yes. Super Autoflowers guarantees an 80% germination rate on autoflower seeds when germination starts within 3 months of delivery. Our Return Policy explains what is covered and how to make a claim.
